SUMMER COACH OUTING
WINDSOR & SAVILL GARDENS
We are pleased to announce that Carol has organised a new Summer outing on Saturday 20th July 2019 to Windsor and the Savill Gardens. We are hiring one of Roadmark’s luxury coaches including a professional driver.
There is plenty to see and do in Windsor town, apart from the Royal Castle there are a wide range of shops and eateries. Perhaps take a trip on the River Thames from the Promenade. We will go onto the Savill Gardens in the afternoon to take in the beauty of the Gardens and have refreshments there.
We will be departing from Horsham Park & Ride at 9.15 am and then onto Horsham Station for 9.30am, leaving Savill Gardens at 4.30pm. The cost of the Outing will be £27 inclusive. Tickets are limited, so please send your cheque, payable to Horsham Horticultural Soc., to Mrs C L Treharne at 35 Forestfield, Horsham, RH13 6DY or at the Society’s Meetings.
EVENING GARDEN VISITS
Carol has organised three more Evening Garden Visits for this year. As usual all visits are on a Tuesday evening, to start at 6.00pm. She will put the sunflower signs out where appropriate.

SPRING GARDENS NURSERY, Spring Gardens, Washington, RH20 3BS. Mr. Alan Harris
The Nursery specialises in pick your own fruit and vegetables. They have 35 acres of fields and orchards to walk around. They also have a new well stocked Farm Shop and Café.
Direction: From Horsham, take the A24 towards Worthing. Then come back up the A24 from the Washington roundabout. Turn left at the exit for Hughes pumps and the Caravan Centre (you will see them going the other way). Turn left up Spring Gardens and follow the road until you come to the Spring Garden Nursery. There is ample parking.
There is a donation of £2.50 for refreshments and Mr Harris will meet and take us around the Nursery.

MEADOW FARM, Blackgate Lane, Pulborough, RH20 1DF. Mr & Mrs. C. Langdale
Approx. 1 acre garden built from scratch over the last 10 years. Hot colour schemed beds at the front lead into a small shrubbery and then onto double borders with a formal pond. A pleached hornbeam avenue takes the eye out to the West Sussex countryside. The walled garden provides fruit, cut flowers and vegetables for the family. This leads in turn to the Orchard with bees and a hazelnut walk.
Directions: Five miles north of Pulborough. From Pulborough take the A29 north. Just outside Pulborough turn left into Blackgate Lane signed to Toot. Continue on the road for one and a half miles. At the sign for Scrase Farms keep going straight. Look out for the parking signs on the right. There is ample parking.
The donation is £6.50 going to the NGS and this includes refreshments. Mrs Langdale will join us in a tour of the garden.

JACARANDA, Chalk Road, Ifold. RH14 OUE. Mr & Mrs. B. McNulty
A plant lover’s garden created by the owners from a bare plot. Curving borders take you on a journey around the garden. Trees with interesting bark, many unusual shrubs and a variety of hosta displays, together with perennials, roses, climbers and bulbs, combine to make this a garden for all Seasons. The vegetable area has a large raised bed, a greenhouse and herbs plus a hanging potting bench.
Directions: One mile south of Loxwood. From the A272/A281 take the B2133 (Loxwood). Half a mile south of Loxwood take the Plaistow Road, then 3rd right into Chalk Road. Follow the signs for parking and garden. Should it be necessary we can also use the nearby Village Hall car park. There is a donation of £5.50 which includes refreshments and Mr. & Mrs. McNulty will be taking us around the garden.
