Horsham Horticultural Society was founded in 1945 to promote an interest in horticulture and to encourage gardening in Horsham and the surrounding district. We hold meetings over the winter months from October to March starting at 7:30. For full details visit our Winter Meetings 2026- 2027 page.

Our 2026 – 2027 Winter Meetings Program is now available in the menu under Winter Meetings.
Considering the current challenging weather our gardens and gardeners are dealing with at the moment, we did manage to have more than expected exhibits at our Summer Show on 9th August. Full details of cup winners and pictures will be posted under Summer Show in the near future. Our thanks to all who participated under these extreme conditions.
Our next meeting is on 13th October where we will be having a talk from Clare Kennett on chillies. Full details can be found in the menu under Winter Meetings 2026-2027.
A reminder that the annual subscription is due from 1st October 2026 – full details in the menu under Membership.
We have received the below email from a gentleman who is requesting some help. If anyone is interested in helping, can they please contact Nigel directly:
“I’m Nigel, a keen but definitely still-learning gardener from Horsham. I’ve been building a little app called Sward & Trug because I know how easy it is to enjoy having a garden but still feel unsure about what actually needs doing and when. It looks at the local weather and what’s growing in your garden, then gives you a short list of useful jobs for the day in plain English.
I wondered whether a few members of Horsham Horticultural Society might be willing to have a play with it and tell me what they think.
I know many of your members will have far more gardening experience than the people I’m building it for, but that’s exactly why their help would be so useful. I’d really value an experienced eye on whether the advice is sound, well timed and easy enough for someone who is still finding their feet.
There’s nothing formal involved. If anyone fancies helping, I’d be
very happy to arrange free access. They can dip into it whenever they
feel like it, and if they spot anything odd, unhelpful or especially
useful, I’d love to hear about it.
