Our 2022 Spring Show took place on Sunday 10th April. We would have preferred to have the Show on Saturday 9th but we would have been competing with a dance class who had already booked the Church Hall. We had a sunny dry day and a satisfying number of exhibits and visitors during the afternoon. Our RHS Judges, Brenda and Ron Thomas from Pulborugh, applied their undimmed critical eye to the entries. I learned that it is important to present flowers in the approved vase, daffodils without stamens don’t do well and the diameter of a presentation bowl is measured from the inside of the rim not the outside. I was filled with admiration for our judges when it came to deciding the best display illustrating “April Showers”. Our Cake and Craft Judges tasted jams, chutneys, cakes, pasties and scones with dedication. Eventually prizes and certificates were awarded and we relaxed over a ploughman’s lunch provided by Sue H before facing the afternoon visitors.
Raffle tickets were purchased, and prizes presented with the show ending by 4.00pm. A very successful Spring Show!
